Only visible Velopedia Bicycle Archive records with a valid model year are evaluated. Hidden review records are excluded from every aggregate.
Classification
Canonical specification fields are normalized into broad families. Blank, ambiguous, or unrecognized values are not forced into a category and reduce the disclosed coverage rate.
Percentages
Each category is divided by classified records for that model year and dimension. It is not divided by every archive record unless coverage is 100%.
What this represents
The charts describe models documented in Velopedia. They do not measure production volume, unit sales, market share, or the total bicycle industry.
Historical catalogs are not equally complete across brands or years, and specifications may vary by market or production run. Sparse years remain in the downloadable table but are excluded from the plotted line when they fall below the chart’s minimum classified sample.
