Listing tips

Reach buyers beyond your local area with a fixed-price or auction listing. Decide whether you will ship the bike or offer collection before you publish, and account for packing, shipping and the fees shown in your seller account.

Use the text-only listing starter here. eBay generally prohibits off-site links in listings, including plain web addresses.

Listing tips

Choose your nearest Craigslist area and post in the bicycles category. A clear title, your actual frame size, current photos and a realistic location help local buyers decide whether to arrange a viewing.

State collection arrangements and what is included. Keep the description useful even if the site displays a reference URL as plain text.

How offers work

TPC reviews bikes, frames and wheels for purchase, trade-in or other offers. This is a different route from publishing your own classified ad: you submit details and photos, then decide whether an available offer works for you.

Check its current buying criteria first. Bike age, original value, condition and equipment affect eligibility; an offer is not guaranteed.

Velopedia is independent of these marketplaces and participates in the eBay Partner Network. These selling links are direct and untracked. Each service sets its own rules, fees and buying criteria.

Before you post

  • Photograph your bike todayShow both sides, the drivetrain, wheels and any wear or damage. Use your own photos.
  • Confirm size and current partsCheck the frame size and list changes from the original build. Include useful service dates.
  • Set your price and handoverCompare similar completed sales. State what is included and whether you offer collection, shipping or both.
More preparation and handover tips

The Archive’s model image helps identify the original bike; it does not show the bike you are selling. Check the frame markings and actual equipment, and describe upgrades or replacements separately.

Active asking prices alone do not establish a sale value. Agree on payment and handover through the marketplace’s supported process. Remove personal accessories and account connections before the bike changes hands, and mark your ad sold afterwards.

Using the spec link

Does it verify my bike’s condition or ownership?

It identifies the archived model and its available factory specifications. It does not verify ownership, originality or current condition. Describe the physical bike in your ad and show it in your own photos.

Can I use it on every marketplace?

Platforms control how links appear. Use the spec URL only where external links are permitted. eBay generally prohibits off-site URLs, including plain addresses; use the text-only starter there. Keep essential size, equipment and condition details in the ad itself.

What if my bike is not in the Archive?

You can still use the marketplace guide. Identify the bike from its frame markings and original documentation, and include only details you can establish. A local bicycle shop may help with an uncertain size or model.
